MP Kesari Desk: The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC), led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has cleared the deployment of veteran economist Neelkanth Mishra as Executive Director of the World Bank in Washington DC.
Mishra, who currently serves as a part-time member of the Prime Minister's Economic Advisory Council (EAC-PM) and the chairperson of UIDAI, will take over the high-profile global post for a tenure of three years.
A Distinguished Financial and Policy Record
"Mishra will succeed Parameswaran Iyer, a 1981-batch retired IAS officer, at the World Bank headquarters."
Previously holding top institutional research positions as the Asia Pacific Co-Head of Equity Strategy for Credit Suisse, Mishra brings deep capital market expertise to his new multilateral role.
His extensive background in handling fiscal balance sheets, tax neutral rate structures, and macro advisory positions will prove highly valuable as he represents regional developmental projects on the global financial stage.
